in the East Village\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The walls are plastered with graffiti, stickers and artwork, while its famous hand-written signs advise drinkers to &#8220;Shut Up And Drink&#8221; and &#8220;You Puke, You Clean.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s a decent array of beers, liquors and cocktails on offer, while more adventurous imbibers can try out the venue&#8217;s mysterious Ass Juice, a\u00a0 strong, sweet and vaguely brown concoction.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.urban75.org\/pics\/double-down-nyc-05.jpg\" alt=\"Life in a New York dive bar - 18 photos of the Double Down Saloon in the East Village\" \/><\/p>\n<p>An\u00a0 East Coast outpost of the Las Vegas original, the Double Down Saloon feels like an authentic dive bar from the 80s, although positively posh compared to the long lost and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/mars-bar-nyc-to-close-as-east-village-gentrifies\/\"> fabulously scuzzy Mars Bar.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.urban75.org\/pics\/double-down-nyc-03.jpg\" alt=\"Life in a New York dive bar - 18 photos of the Double Down Saloon in the East Village\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The bar is open from 2pm to
