We took a\u00a0walk\u00a0through Myatt&#8217;s Fields\u00a0on\u00a0Saturday\u00a0and although it was the beginning of October, it felt like high summer, with temperatures nearly hitting 30 \u00a0degrees Celsius.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/images\/myatts-fields-september--2011-16.jpg\" alt=\"A walk through Myatts Fields on the hottest October day on record\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Met Office reported that the record for Britain&#8217;s hottest October day had been smashed with temperatures reaching 29.9 degrees Celsius (85.8 degrees Fahrenheit) in Gravesend.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.metoffice.gov.uk\/news\/releases\/archive\/2011\/october-record\" target=\"_blank\">Met Office<\/a>\u00a0forecaster Andrew Sibley explained that conditions for the Indian summer were being created by a southerly wind\u00a0bringing\u00a0very warm air up from the south.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\"
