Situated in the heart of Fitzrovia, Kaffeine is an independent, Aussie\/Kiwi-run caf\u00e9 located at 66 Great Titchfield Street, a short stroll north of Oxford Street.<\/p>\n

Outside, there’s a small amount of seating, while inside the long and narrow shop there’s \u00a0raised seats running opposite the counter and a smaller seating area at the rear.<\/p>\n

The service was excellent and the staff were really lovely – ten out of ten for friendliness.<\/p>\n

The coffee was pretty good too – perhaps not quite<\/em> besting\u00a0Federation<\/a> and Store Street Espresso<\/a>, but it was still a mighty fine brew and superior to most other coffee houses in the area.<\/p>\n

We went for the white chocolate brownie which was tasty but perhaps not quite as fresh as we might have liked – in fairness, we did arrive towards the end of a Sunday afternoon (after protesting on Westminster Bridge<\/a>) so were grateful to find a decent coffee house open.<\/p>\n

Other\u00a0reviews\u00a0have praised the baguettes, rolls and bakes on offer at Kaffeine, so we’ll have to come back and try some of them another time.<\/p>\n

The space at the back of the caf\u00e9 was a little odd.\u00a0All that slatted pine made it look like a sauna, and being considerably lower than the adjacent raised seating with the toilet entrance to the side, it felt rather\u00a0like\u00a0second class seating.<\/p>\n

Not surprisingly, as soon as one of the seats opposite the counter became available there was\u00a0usually\u00a0a scramble to bagsy one. Which is exactly what we did!<\/p>\n
