{"id":548,"date":"2006-07-24T23:45:00","date_gmt":"2006-07-24T23:45:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.urban75.org\/u75blog\/?p=548"},"modified":"2006-07-24T23:45:00","modified_gmt":"2006-07-24T23:45:00","slug":"protest-and-party","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/protest-and-party\/","title":{"rendered":"Protest and Party!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.urban75.org\/photos\/protest\/images\/lebanon-012.jpg\" title=\"Demonstration against Israeli attacks on Lebanon\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>On Saturday, we checked out the demo against the terrible Israeli attacks on Lebanon, before grabbing lunch at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.urban75.org\/london\/photographers-gallery.html\" target=\"_blank\">Photographers&#8217; Gallery<\/a> on Great Newport Street (by Leicester Square).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.urban75.org\/photos\/protest\/lebanon-london-2006.html\" target=\"_blank\">Photos: London protest against Israeli attacks on Lebanon<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Later on we watched some fun dancers performing at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.urban75.org\/vista\/somerset.html\" target=\"_blank\">Somerset House<\/a> &#8211; photos to follow soon.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.urban75.org\/offline\/images\/albert-july06-09.jpg\" title=\"OFFLINE, Prince Albert, Brixton: Saturday, 22nd July 2006\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In the evening, it was my  <a href=\"http:\/\/www.urban75.org\/offline\/\" target=\"_blank\">OFFLINE club night<\/a> in the Prince Albert, Brixton which turned out to be a totally mad night.<\/p>\n<p>I wasn&#8217;t expecting much of a crowd with so many people being away, but in the end it turned out to be a major mash up!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.urban75.org\/offline\/images\/albert-july06-03.jpg\" title=\"\" offline=\"OFFLINE\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I was spinning ska, punk rock and new wave sounds all night and loved it! And it was the first time I&#8217;ve ever had someone pogo into a table and crash into a heap on the floor.<\/p>\n<p>Next Offline is this Thursday &#8211; and what a bill!<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ve got ace comedian ROBERT NEWMAN, Bollywood hip hop rappers, the D&#8217;ARCHETYPES, young hip punksters the MOLOTOVS, rising indie stars IT HUGS BACK and the fabulous Cocteaus-meets-Engish folk hurdy gurdy sounds of SALT AND BLUE!<\/p>\n<p>And there&#8217;s more!<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ve got top cabaret with roots poet MARK MACE SMITH, and poets JOHN CLARKE AND NATHAN PENLINGTON, plus DJs and dancing though to the wee small hours. Bands start at 8pm.
