The first is the sight of the cleaned up brickwork of the old\u00a0Sanders &amp; Co Jewellers\u00a0shop\u00a0on Brixton Road.<\/p>\n<p>The hoardings are slowly coming down in\u00a0readiness\u00a0for the opening of a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/costa-coffee-gets-ready-to-open-in-brixton\/\" target=\"_blank\">Costa Coffee shop<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/images\/brixton-coffee-squirrel-02.jpg\" alt=\"Brixton Costa Coffee reveals itself, while a squirrel scuttles about on the 9th floor\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s good to see that the tiled Sanders\u00a0fa\u00e7ade\u00a0has been cleaned up, even if we&#8217;re not exactly fans of Costa (we&#8217;d rather\u00a0direct\u00a0coffee lovers to independent local coffee shops like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/federation-coffee-brixton-londons-finest-coffee\/\" target=\"_blank\">Federation Coffee<\/a>) .<\/p>\n<p>You can read the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/homelooksanders-460-brixton-road-yours-for-9kmonth\/\">full story of Sanders in Brixton here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/images\/brixton-coffee-squirrel-04.jpg\" alt=\"Brixton Costa Coffee reveals itself, while a squirrel scuttles about on the 9th floor\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Elsewhere, I spotted this\u00a0adventurous\u00a0squirrel hopping around on the 9th floor of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/the-singular-beauty-of-southwyck-house-aka-the-brixton-barrier-block\/\" target=\"_blank\">Barrier Block in Brixton<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/images\/brixton-coffee-squirrel-05.jpg\" alt=\"Brixton Costa Coffee reveals itself, while a squirrel scuttles about on the 9th floor\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m not sure how it managed to climb up to such a lofty perch, but at least it seems to be unrelated to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/the-singular-beauty-of-southwyck-house-aka-the-brixton-barrier-block\/\" target=\"_blank\">Brixton&#8217;s notorious crack squirrels<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve got two completely unrelated Brixton scenes for you today.
