{"id":591,"date":"2006-03-03T01:55:00","date_gmt":"2006-03-03T01:55:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.urban75.org\/u75blog\/?p=591"},"modified":"2010-07-28T02:19:46","modified_gmt":"2010-07-28T01:19:46","slug":"591","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/591\/","title":{"rendered":"Bad news from the Big Apple &#8211; the Raven Bar burns down"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Bad news from the Big Apple<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Last night, my very favourite New York bar, The Raven, suffered a serious fire and there&#8217;s a chance that the place may have to be demolished.<\/p>\n<p>They&#8217;ll know for sure tomorrow, but with the entire area yuppifying at a rate of knots, there may be a whole load more financial incentive for the landlord to demolish the bar and slap up some swishy &#8216;lifestyle&#8217; flats on the site instead.<\/p>\n<p>It would be a tragedy to see such a fabulous neighbourhood bar disappear. To Harold, Ria, Jim and all the employees and regulars of The Raven &#8211; we&#8217;re with you.
