The Taylor Wessing Photo Portrait Prize showcases the work of talented young photographers, gifted amateurs and established professionals in the very best of contemporary photography.<\/p>\n

Currently showing at the National Portrait Gallery until the 8th Feb 2026, the competition “celebrates a diverse range of images and tells the fascinating stories behind the creation of works, from formal commissioned portraits to more spontaneous and intimate moments capturing friends and family. ”<\/p>\n

I found it to be something of a mixed bag this year.<\/p>\n
Although some of the work was excellent, others failed to make much of an impact on me, not helped by some truly pretentious text descriptions.<\/p>\n

Is it worth the tenner to see it?\u00a0 Just about, I guess, although it was almost worth the admission prize to see these wonderful two photos below:<\/p>\n
