{"id":641,"date":"2005-10-28T13:37:00","date_gmt":"2005-10-28T13:37:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.urban75.org\/u75blog\/?p=641"},"modified":"2010-04-22T17:01:14","modified_gmt":"2010-04-22T16:01:14","slug":"641","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/641\/","title":{"rendered":"Apple scrape the barrel"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Apple scrape the barrel<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Apple\" src=\"https:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/images\/apple.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" width=\"350\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Some fuckwit at Apple thought it would be a <em>grrrreat<\/em> idea to &#8220;associate&#8221; the &#8220;values&#8221; of the multi-billion company with Rosa Parks, who died recently.<\/p>\n<p>Parks was a brave US civil rights activist who protested against segregation in the fifties by famously refusing to give up her seat to a white man, despite being ordered to do so by the bus driver.<\/p>\n<p>Her arrest was to spark a bus boycott which helped make other Americans aware of the civil rights struggle, with her case ending in a United States Supreme Court&#8217;s ruling that segregated bus service was unconstitutional.<\/p>\n<p>The case proved to be a landmark because the ruling applying to all segregationist laws, not just those affecting interstate\/intercity commerce.<\/p>\n<p>So what, you may ask, has her struggle and achievements got to do with Apple?<\/p>\n<p>Well, the answer is, of course, absolutely fuck all, so I&#8217;m well pissed off to see that they&#8217;ve branded her image on their homepage, branding her photo with the Apple logo and corporate message, &#8220;Think Different&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Wankers.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Maybe this will be their next front page?<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Apple tossers\" src=\"https:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/images\/apple1.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" width=\"350\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.urban75.org\/temp\/apple.jpg\" target=\"_blank\">Click for larger version<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Apple scrape the barrel Some fuckwit at Apple thought it would be a grrrreat idea to &#8220;associate&#8221; the &#8220;values&#8221; of the multi-billion company with Rosa Parks, who died recently.
