{"id":662,"date":"2005-08-23T20:08:00","date_gmt":"2005-08-23T20:08:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.urban75.org\/u75blog\/?p=662"},"modified":"2010-06-04T02:01:17","modified_gmt":"2010-06-04T01:01:17","slug":"662","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/662\/","title":{"rendered":"Cruising around the coves of Cornwall"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Cruising around the coves of Cornwall<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/images\/bike.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" width=\"350\" \/><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #808080;\">My Dahon Jetstream bike<\/span><\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ve just come back from a fabulous five days in Cornwall, where we got to give our new Dahon folding bikes a good test drive.<\/p>\n<p>We covered 80-odd miles, crawling up the fearsome Cornish hills and then hurtling down the super-steep valleys around St Ives.<\/p>\n<p>Our journeys included a ride from St Ives to the village of Zennor, followed by a very wet trip over the moors to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.urban75.org\/railway\/marazion.html\" target=\"_blank\">Marazion station<\/a> and then onwards to Penzance.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/images\/bike1.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" width=\"350\" \/><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #808080;\">Our two bikes at Hell&#8217;s Mouth<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Our biggest ride was a 35 mile trip from St Ives to Godrevy Point and then on to Porthreath and back &#8211; knackering but great fun.<\/p>\n<p>On the way home I managed to notch up a hair-raising top speed of 41 mph &#8211; the way the bike started to wobble furiously suggests that&#8217;ll remain my top speed for some time!<\/p>\n<p>The bikes performed brilliantly though.
