{"id":667,"date":"2005-07-22T09:58:00","date_gmt":"2005-07-22T09:58:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.urban75.org\/u75blog\/?p=667"},"modified":"2010-08-04T01:37:07","modified_gmt":"2010-08-04T00:37:07","slug":"667","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/667\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Oval Tube Bomb&#8217; &#8211; Curry 1 Terrorists 0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Curry 1 Terrorists 0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"London tube bomb attacks, 21st July 2005\" src=\"https:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/images\/bomb.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" width=\"350\" \/><br \/>\nSo the tubes were in a chaos, the buses weren&#8217;t running and chunks of London were sealed off with police tape &#8211; but we had a date with a curry!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"London tube bomb attacks, 21st July 2005\" src=\"https:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/images\/bomb1.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" width=\"350\" \/><br \/>\nWe decided to walk the 4-odd miles to the Strand, and it turned out to be a very pleasurable experience indeed.<\/p>\n<p>With many roads closed and no buses running, walking along Kennington Road felt like a trip back to the early 20th century, with lines of commuters walking back in the early evening sunshine.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"London tube bomb attacks, 21st July 2005\" src=\"https:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/images\/bomb2.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" width=\"350\" \/><br \/>\nCrossing Waterloo Bridge. In central London, everything was back to normal, with the bustling streets punctuated with al fresco diners and groups of people enjoying an<em> apres-<\/em>work drink or two.<\/p>\n<p>We enjoyed a lovely curry &#8211; another impromptu meal for the urban75 Book Club &#8211; at the gloriously down-at-heel India Club.
