It was amazing seeing how much London has changed and just how knackered things looked twenty years ago.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"North Woolwich railway station\" src=\"http:\/\/www.urban75.org\/london\/images\/woolwich01.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" width=\"350\" \/><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.urban75.org\/london\/woolwich.html\" target=\"_blank\">North Woolwich railway station<\/a> &#8211; a derelict east London terminus<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.urban75.org\/london\/images\/ongar05.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" width=\"350\" \/><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.urban75.org\/london\/ongar.html\" target=\"_blank\">Epping to Ongar railway line, Essex<\/a>, an abandoned tube line running through the heart of the countryside.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"London Docks\" src=\"http:\/\/www.urban75.org\/london\/images\/docks01.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" width=\"350\" \/><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.urban75.org\/london\/docks.html\" target=\"_blank\">London docks<\/a>, a photo study of London&#8217;s docklands, 1980.<\/p>\n<p>Modern visitors to the Docklands would be very hard pressed to recognise anything from the scenes of industrial dereliction I witnessed in the 80s &#8211; I was able to cycle through long, empty warehouses and the whole area was deserted.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\" Herne Hill Velodrome, south London\" src=\"http:\/\/www.urban75.org\/london\/images\/velo08.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" width=\"350\" \/><br \/>\nFinally, I&#8217;ve posted up a piece about another part of London&#8217;s history that may disappear forever, as the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.urban75.org\/london\/velodrome.html\" target=\"_blank\">Herne Hill Velodrome, south London<\/a> is tragically threatened with closure.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Site updates I&#8217;ve been dusting off some of my old negatives and scanning in London pictures taken on my trusty Olympus OM10 35mm camera, waaay back in the 1980s.
