{"id":768,"date":"2004-07-16T09:52:00","date_gmt":"2004-07-16T09:52:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.urban75.org\/u75blog\/?p=768"},"modified":"2010-05-17T23:27:22","modified_gmt":"2010-05-17T22:27:22","slug":"768","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/768\/","title":{"rendered":"Currified at the Strand Continental Hotel"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial;\">Currified!<\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/images\/curry.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"urban75 book club curry, 15th July 2004\" width=\"350\" height=\"137\" \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial;\"><\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial;\">I&#8217;m still barely able to walk after last night&#8217;s<span style=\"font-style: italic;\"> uber-curry<\/span> at the Strand Continental Hotel (no, it&#8217;s nowhere near as posh as it sounds!).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial;\"> I&#8217;d gatecrashed the bi-annual meal of the urban75 Book Club and it was a treat to visit the India Club &#8211; a delightfully anachronistic curry house situated right next to the Indian Embassy in the Aldwych.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"font-family: arial;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/images\/curry1.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"urban75 book club curry, 15th July 2004\" width=\"350\" height=\"209\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial;\"> It&#8217;s all a bit chaotic inside and the decor has definitely seen better days, but the food was good and the waiters friendly.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial;\"> As ever, the combination of good Indian food and lots of lager (you can bring your own) meant that I stuffed my fat face full to the brim and waddled home&#8230;<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Currified!
