Most of the events and exhibitions take place around King’s Cross and Bloomsbury, with participating venues including the\u00a0British Library, National Portrait Gallery, V&A, Tate Modern, King’s Cross Station and St Pancras International.<\/p>\n
The festival is put on by Shoot Experience<\/a>, a not-for-profit experiential photography organisation – check out what happened at the\u00a02011 festival<\/a>\u00a0here.<\/p>\n Here’s the\u00a0Press Release for the full blurb:<\/p>\n World-class photography takes over London\u2019s most celebrated venues, large and small, for the festival\u2019s second year.<\/strong><\/p>\n Throughout June 2012, the second installation of the London Festival of Photography (formally the London Street Photography Festival) will be taking place across London with a focus in King\u2019s Cross, Bloomsbury & Fitzrovia 30,000 people visited festival exhibitions and 2,300 attended events and workshops in 2011. The festival expects up to 50,000 attendees in 2012.<\/p>\n Highlights include the unseen Gaddafi photo archive, new work by Simon Roberts and Magnum photographers Chris Steele-\u00ad\u2010Perkins and Martin Parr, and a masterclass with 2011 World Press Photo Winner Jodi Bieber.<\/p>\n PLANNED CONTENT FESTIVAL THEME -\u00ad\u2010 INSIDE OUT: REFLECTIONS ON THE PUBLIC AND THE PRIVATE<\/strong><\/p>\n Maintaining strong links to street photography, the ultimate reflection of public life, the 2012 theme will allow the festival to expand and explore the changing boundaries between the public and the private, as both physical and metaphorical concepts, and the social consequences of these shifts. Considering the role of photography as a tool for documentation, expression and collaboration, the festival will present work responding to the theme in its broadest interpretation.<\/p>\n Eighteen exhibitions and forty events are planned for June at venues including the British Library, Tate Modern, V&A, Guardian Gallery, St Pancras Interna;onal, Central Saint Martins, King\u2019s Place, King\u2019s Cross Station, Museum of London, British Museum and many more.<\/p>\n The festival curates or co-\u00ad\u2010curates all festival content.<\/p>\n Exhibitions and events are free unless otherwise stated.
