With its south facing hands seemingly doomed to display eighteen minutes to one forever, the clock on top of the old Brady’s public house on\u00a0Atlantic Road, Brixton continues to stand idle, its internal mechanism disappeared.<\/p>\n

Once a big part of the Brixton community, the 1880 pub – originally called The Railway Hotel – closed down over a\u00a0decade\u00a0ago.<\/p>\n

After a brief spell as a squatted pub and community space, this grand old Victorian boozer remained empty for many years, with the beautiful clock tower attracting regular ‘repaintings’ by hopeless graffiti ‘artists’.<\/p>\n

\"Bradys<\/p>\n

When an ambitious local plan to reopen the building for community use unravelled in 2011, the building was sold off to Mayfair-based \u2018property consultants\u2019 in November last year.<\/p>\n

Nothing much seems to have\u00a0happened\u00a0since, although ‘Office to let’ and ‘Restaurant\/Retail unit to let’ signs adorned the building for a while last year<\/a>.<\/p>\n
