{"id":870,"date":"2004-02-27T18:06:00","date_gmt":"2004-02-27T18:06:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.urban75.org\/u75blog\/?p=870"},"modified":"2010-06-01T14:43:00","modified_gmt":"2010-06-01T13:43:00","slug":"870","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/870\/","title":{"rendered":"Women of 1970\u2019s Punk"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>A selection of links<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>After last night&#8217;s all-girl punk rock shakeout, I&#8217;ve been having a shufti around these websites:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.comnet.ca\/%7Erina\/\" target=\"_blank\">Women of 1970&#8217;s Punk<\/a> &#8211; a huge compilation covering Siouxsie to Pauline Murray to X Ray Spex and<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.punkbrighton.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">Punk Brighton<\/a> &#8211; covering the history of punk\/new wave bands in the Brighton area. There&#8217;s a page on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.punkbrighton.co.uk\/chefs.html\" target=\"_blank\">The Chefs<\/a> whose lead singer, the fabulously monikered Helen McCookeryBook, is a top old chum of mine (we worked together in several bands with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.xtrememusician.com\/info\/artists\/profiles\/1625.html\" target=\"_blank\">Lester Square<\/a> from the Monochrome Set)&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Curiously, my dubious punk rock past has been documented on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.spot.no\/30439.html\" target=\"_blank\">this incredibly methodical site<\/a>.
