Compared to previous years, the 2012\u00a0London Gay Pride event was something of a minimal affair, with the traditional street\u00a0floats being cancelled as a result of a\u00a0funding shortfall.<\/p>\n

I didn’t make it to the smaller march through central London or the\u00a0party in Trafalgar Square this year, but was drawn into\u00a0Soho Square where I had a familiar samba thunder.<\/p>\n

Putting on an ad-hoc\u00a0performance\u00a0in the busy square were several of my friends from Barking Bateria\/Sambatage, \u00a0who were getting folks dancing along to their persuasive\u00a0rhythms.<\/p>\n
