A while ago, I teamed up with like-minded Brixtonite, Rich, to create what we wanted to be the best Brixton listings service on the planet,\u00a0naming it\u00a0BrixtonBuzz<\/a>.<\/p>\n

We were spurred on by the fact that most Brixton-related listings in mainstreams mags and websites only seemed interested in covering nu-Brixton<\/em> events, like groovy Villaaage shindigs, pop-up whatevers and the enormo gigs at the Academy.<\/p>\n

Much as we like to see a rich diversity of things going on around Brixton, we felt that smaller venues and promoters weren’t getting much of a look in – and that didn’t seem fair.<\/p>\n

So we tasked\u00a0ourselves\u00a0with coming up with a free site that made a point of promoting the smaller venues too, and so far it’s been a\u00a0roaring\u00a0success, with a growing list of events covered and traffic\u00a0rising month on month.<\/p>\n

I’m now\u00a0delighted\u00a0to\u00a0announce\u00a0that from this week, we’ll be contributing two,\u00a0carefully\u00a0curated pages of listings to the local newspaper, Lambeth Weekender<\/a>,\u00a0a free fortnightly newspaper covering Lambeth and Southwark, produced by independent publishers Southwark Newspaper Ltd.<\/p>\n

We also hope to have more exciting news about BrixtonBuzz coming up over the summer, so stay tuned! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

Oh, and a big ‘thank you’ has to go to Rich, who has done a\u00a0magnificent\u00a0job of keeping the Brixton listings up to date. Nice one, mate!<\/p>\n
