An evening of bands at the Monto Water Rats, 328 Grays Inn Road, London, WC1X 8BZ, January 2012

It’s been a while since I’ve visited the Water Rats venue, a smallish live venue some five minutes from Kings Cross station, a short walk down Grays Inn Road.

Now renamed as the Monto Water Rats Theatre,  the venue puts on regular live music events throughout the week.

Problem: we’re in a noisy rock band but there’s nowhere to rehearse – and we can’t afford to pay proper studios.
Cunning solution: drive up to an abandoned quarry in north Cardiff and rehearse there for free!

There was no shortage of festive spirit at the Brixton Albert last Saturday, with a packed house  making it a fantastic night.

On stage were the superb Lost Cavalry and Sanjuro, with DJs till the wee small hours.

We’re back on Thursday (Dec 22nd) for a particularly mad evening of fun, and then one more Christmas show on Friday before taking a break to get ready for the New Year’s Eve special!

Offline Club regulars and all round decent chaps, The Lost Cavalry, have just released a new video to accompany their Snow City Radio EP, and it’s a very splendid thing indeed.
