It may have been freezing outside, but it felt like a furnace inside the Brixton Prince Albert last night, with The Sharks burning it up on stage at the Offline Club. here’s some pics;
It’s been a while since I’ve visited the Water Rats venue, a smallish live venue some five minutes from Kings Cross station, a short walk down Grays Inn Road.
Now renamed as the Monto Water Rats Theatre, the venue puts on regular live music events throughout the week.
Problem: we’re in a noisy rock band but there’s nowhere to rehearse – and we can’t afford to pay proper studios.
Cunning solution: drive up to an abandoned quarry in north Cardiff and rehearse there for free!
I’m still recovering from our massive New Year’s Eve party at the Prince Albert Brixton with James Pyke playing a superb live set.

There was a lot of smiling faces at the Brixton Albert last night as we put on our Offline Christmas party, and held a fiercely fought contest to discover Brixton’s Best Bono.
There was no shortage of festive spirit at the Brixton Albert last Saturday, with a packed house making it a fantastic night.
On stage were the superb Lost Cavalry and Sanjuro, with DJs till the wee small hours.
We’re back on Thursday (Dec 22nd) for a particularly mad evening of fun, and then one more Christmas show on Friday before taking a break to get ready for the New Year’s Eve special!

There was a packed house at the Brixton Albert last night for the return of Bristol’s finest hip hop crew, The Scribes. Here’s some pics of the action.
With the Brixton Albert closing for a two week swanky refurb, we saw off the battle-hardened premises last night with one hell of a party.
Once again, we had a great crowd in who were more than happy to indulge my sometimes-eccentric music tastes!
Offline Club regulars and all round decent chaps, The Lost Cavalry, have just released a new video to accompany their Snow City Radio EP, and it’s a very splendid thing indeed.

The hatches were well and truly battened down last night with a loud, sweaty night of sweet rock and roll debauchery served up by ATOMIC SUPLEX, backed by lo-fi Garage/Popsters NERVOUS TWITCH from Leeds. Here’s some snaps:

There was a big party going on north of the river last night, with the Actionettes hosting their ‘Night of the Shimmying Dead’ Halloween special at the Buffalo Bar, a basement club right next to Highbury and Islington tube station.
There was a particularly mad one at the Brixton Albert last night with our Offline Halloween special proving a memorable night!
There was another very lively night going down in Brixton town last night, with the Offline DJs getting the Brixton Albert dancefloor jumping (and falling over).
The crowd – and music – was as varied as ever and I had a ruddy great night out!
