Great Court, British Museum
Opened by the Queen in December 2000, the 'Queen Elizabeth II Great Court' is a dramatic covered space in the heart of the British Museum.
Designed by Lord Foster, the court is the largest covered square in Europe, with the glass and steel roof being constructed from 1,656 pairs of uniquely shaped glass panes.
