Built in the 1930s, the Talybont Reservoir forced 200 residents off the land.
Started in 1923, the reservoir was built to solve the problems of Newport's inadequate water supply.
Completed 16 years later, it was able to provide each person in Newport with 23.17 gallons of water a day.
