Brixton riots aftermath - photos

Violence and looting broke out around Brixton’s town centre yesterday, with several local businesses hit and several reports of assaults taking place.  Most of the town centre remains cordoned off, with the tube station closed all day.

The violence followed after a successful and comparatively trouble free Brixton Splash festival, with looting and arson attacks going on till the small hours.

All the shops in the town centre was closed off and the street sealed off.

Morleys Department store was targeted.
