On a scorching April afternoon, community activists marked the 30th anniversary of the Brixton riots with a public meeting in Windrush Square, followed by a series of talks in the Tate library.

The event was held outside the new home of the Black Cultural Archives, a national institution dedicated to collecting, preserving and celebrating the histories of people of African descent in the UK.
