A steam train passes Castell Coch on 20th June, 1949. This idyllic scene has changed immeasurably over the years, with the widening of the the A470 and the construction of the nearby M4 motorway.
Note for train buffs: the engine is a standard GWR Pannier Tank 0-6-0, number 3787, pulling an old Bristol & Exeter composite coach, used as an inspection saloon.
