Bravo the Wrexham and Shropshire railway company!
We show our appreciation of a great new train service

We travelled from London Marylebone to Chirk (nr Wrexham) and back using the new Wrexham and Shropshire railway company and the service was so good we felt obliged to big them up here.
The fare was a reasonable £28 each return from London, we had a lovely train on the way up with - get this - friendly table service of freshly prepared and cooked food.
Loads of locally sourced food was available including absolutely delicious Welsh cakes from Llangollen.
Part of the fun of a railway journey is looking out of the window, and Wrexham and Shropshire seem to understand this and are actually thinking of the customer, with their website saying, "Seats always line up with the windows – you'll never end up in a seat with just a pillar for a view."
Compare this with the Great Western who are currently hell bent on a campaign of shoehorning in as many punters as possible into cramped, unsocial airline type seats, all facing the same way.
Thanks to the Great Western's 'pack 'em in' policy, it's not unusual to end up with a seat that only has a tiny segment of a window, or, at worst, no window at all.
On the way back things got even better with the first class carriage being opened up to standard class travellers, and really tasty meals being served to our table on china plates.
The service was friendly and the food high quality, all at a cut down price. Look! The fresh carrots have been bundled up using spinach!
The service runs to London Marylebone which is one of London's most pleasant stations.
Bravo the Wrexham and Shropshire!
