There were lively scenes in Lambeth tonight as angry protesters stormed the Town Hall to disrupt the council’s meeting to vote on its proposed huge budget cuts.
Passing cars and busses were hooting their support so much that it was impossible to hear the speakers!
Storming the building!
The council abandoned the chamber and scuttled off to have their meeting in secret, while protesters occupied the room.

Last night protest was pretty crazy!
After agreeing to put 1000 of Lambeth’s workers and their families on the dole Lambeth Labour Party, including council leader Steve Reed, Councillor Robbins and many more decided to have a celebration in Brixton Bar and Grill, drinking and dancing the night away till 1am. If i had just voted through that budget i am not sure that’s the way I would want to be seen by the community!
