
I’ve been visiting Barry Island since I was very young, and whenever I’m up in the area, I always make time for a quick trip to the beach.
Here’s some photos from a recent visit:


Although considerably diminished since its heyday, the funfair seems to be just about hanging in there.




Alas, the Fun Harbour was closed.


We visited during a heatwave, with temperatures exceeding 30C.






The Gavin & Stacey sitcom has provided a tidy income stream to local traders.

I’m not quite sure what this is.














Barry Island railway station is a pale shadow of its former glories.
