New York street scenes: taking a peek, dodgy Canal St traders, pizza and foam rubber

Here’s a short selection of eight photos taken around Lower Manhattan during a recent NY visit.

Late night pizza.

Canal Street is the place to go if you’re after counterfeit goods, with traders displaying their dodgy wares on sheets on the pavement.

The sheets come in handy for scooping up the goods fast and making a high speed wheeled getaway once the feds are spotted.

Canal Rubber has been trading from the same location since 1954.

It’s great to see the old sign still intact, although I’m tempted to scale the frontage with a bit of black tape to put in that damn missing apostrophe.

Subway view.

Night scene.
