Return to Brixton Station Road railway arches
Another stroll past the old arches

After posting up a series of photos of the old railway arches along Brixton Station Road in 2001, I grabbed a few photos of how they look now.
Although most have been modernised, there's still a few survivors left:

The DIY centre on Brixton Station Road hasn't changed much in nearly a decade.

The old sign above the archway doors has finally fallen off.

A market worker pushes stock back into one of the arches.
Here's how most of the arches look these days. Cleaner, safer and smarter - but a little bland.

Some old survivors.

Old and new.

At the far end of Brixton Station Road (by Gresham Road), one of the arches has been bricked up.
