Here’s a random selection of photos taken on the streets of Paris in 2001 – blimey, that’s a quarter of a century ago!
The photos were taken on a Sony Cybershot DSC-F55E camera, which served up a mighty 2.1MP of resolution.

The infamous and universally loathed Tour Montparnasse tower.
Parisians joke that the tower’s observation deck offers the most beautiful view in all of Paris because it’s the only place where you can’t see the tower.

Fun fact: the term “metro” used globally for underground railways derives directly from London’s Metropolitan Railway, which opened in 1863.
